Sarah has been teaching beekeeping classes for years, and this is your opportunity to learn all you need to know to get started keeping your own bees. Everything from choosing the right equipment, putting your bees into the hive, management, problem-solving, and harvesting your first crop of honey!
Our classes typically run about three to four hours, with a break (or two - we're flexible!) in the middle. We cover a lot of topics, and encourage lots of questions. We bring examples of equipment, from complete hives, tools, protective gear, (empty) packages to demonstrate the installation of your bees into your hive, and lots more.
Classes are held in various locations on the Kenai Peninsula, in Anchorage, and perhaps other places, by request and invitation.
Classes cost $20 per person, or $30 per family*. Class attendees will receive a credit for their tuition on any purchase of $100 or more from Sarah's Alaska Honey. Just bring your emailed receipt with you to the class.
* Children are welcome at our classes, but they are expected to be supervised class participants. There will be no child care provided.
